Hi! I am the founder of Riti's kulfi Ice Cream and a food enthusiast. I am passionate about re-creating recipes from my childhood growing up in Mumbai, India. Kulfi was an accidental experiment and a naive attempt to pass on my childhood memories to my 3 year old daughter. Sitting on our porch on hot summer day in Boston while licking her kulfi ice cream, my daughter told me "Mama, you should sell this!" And so the seed was planted and I began selling Kulfi Ice cream at local farmers markets in the Boston area. Kulfi is a dense, creamy, nutty ice cream that is made from simmering full fat milk (flavored with cardamom, rosewater, saffron or pistachios) till the sugar in the milk caramelizes and reduces down to a creamy concoction that is frozen in popsicle molds or terracotta cups. We want to stay true to the authentic taste of kulfi and only use the best quality milk and ingredients sourced locally.
